Vera Wang, who is probably the best in the business when it comes to designing a wedding dress, came up with an amazing bridal collection for fall 2009 called “Forest Fantasia”. The designer, who has worked with top brands like Vogue and Ralph Lauren, has also designed wedding dresses for many world renowned celebrities including Jennifer Lopez.
The bridal collection for the fall 2009 was a perfect way for the designer to showcase her out of the box thinking. Her designs were completely different from the traditional bridal couture. Although she has used the traditional silhouette, she has done a brilliant job of keeping up with the taste of the fashion conscious customers of the modern times.
Her design of the “ball gown” gives a feel of cloud of tulle which seems to be folded smoothly, which is beautifully accented with a neat lavender grosgrain sash. The “mermaid” gown has a seductive look which can match even vintage lingerie. The excellent manipulation of the fabric done by the designer definitely outshines the usual beaded embellishment. She is really innovative when it comes to detailing her gown and does not use the usual beading or embroidery to do so. Sequins and beads which are used for the bracelets and necklaces and sewn to ribbon provided the much needed sparkle.
The show received an amazing response and the editors were left wondering about the level of creativity and the unique take of the designer on the bridal gowns. The clothes with their charm and innocence are surely very seductive.
