Hurray, the Olympics 2008 in Beijing have already started. To my mind, the opening was pompous and stunning, but to tell the truth, sometimes I found myself thinking about supper instead of watching (sorry!!!) The situation changed when I saw USA team in their Ralph Lauren designed outfits. According to the designer the idea was to create “something simple enough for the athletes to put together, yet stylish enough to elevate us as a country” and I think, he succeeded. BUT:

• the collection seems to be a completely man-like. I mean, it was almost impossible to discern men from women. They could wear some skirts or scarves. Don’t you think so?
• it seems to be more appropriate for ordinary tourists that for sportsmen.
