Life of the designer used to be interesting and full of bold decisions. Have you ever heard about the legendary Blitz nightclub? Jones was its member, to tell the truth, a very significant member - he was always perfectly dressed and had an extraordinary hat on his head. Stephen was born in Cheshire, finished school in Liverpool and studied at St Martins. In 1980 he opened his first hat store in the middle of London’s Covent Garden.

Stephen hats can be called a provocation, so if any celebrity or a star wanted to burst the headlines, she or he went to Jones Stephen - he is perfect at this. To his current clients belong: Pink, Marilyn Manson, Beyonce Knowles and Gwen Stefani. One of the most amazing masterpieces (made not so far) is the tiniest of tricornes for Dita Von Teese. Also, he makes hats for collections, the freshest one - for Rei Kawakubo’s Comme des Garçons menswear collection. But, this list is not full without: Claude Montana, Thierry Mugler, Jean-Paul Gaultier and John Galliano for Dior fashion collections.

Nowadays, the center of his life is a marvellous Georgian townhouse, there he lives, creates and designs (not far from the 1st salon). Moreover, he designs a line of JonesGirl accessories (for Japan). Stephens works can be seen in the Louvre (Paris), the Kyoto Costume Institute, Victoria & Albert museum (London) etc. Celebrities in his hats very often can be seen on the covers of the most fashionable and popular magazines.

Events

In July 2007, all the upper-class representatives of London gathered in the Debenham House - Stephen Jones celebrated 25-years of hat designing career: designers, supermodels, best stylists, and other celebrities, his friends and fans celebrated this happy occasion. There were said a lot of praises and warm phrases, also, Stephen was named as one of the most stylish and fashionable designers of the century. The birthday boy was very glad and said, that he can’t believe how quickly the time runs and he adores his business.

Future

Stephen is going to release a new fragrance together with Rei Kawakubo. Design of the bottle and title of fragrance is kept in a secret.
