Have you ever been married? Actually, for Coleen Baran it is not so important as to your friends or parents. You will ask why? Because she is making rings sometimes much more beautiful than a wedding-ring is. So, enjoy the view!
Colleen Baran is a very talented Canadian artist. She produces everything: jewellery, fashion things. also, she is keen on photography and in publishing (especially in the North America and about jewellery). Colleen is an often member of various exhibitions (for instance, “Jewellery Journey : Air”, at the Museuem fur Kunst und Gewerbe (in Hamburg Germany), ‘The 60 Years of MAG and the Year of Craft’ at the Ontario College of Art and Design (Toronto) etc.). Her moving force is a love of language, pattern and form.

She presented a lot of collections, I liked them all, but the following impressed me greatly: a limited edition Contemporary Jewellery by Colleen Baran. Each piece of this collection is handmade. The rings are made from milky lexan paper, silver and other materials, they embody the idea of love-letters, each ring contains a message. They seem more like wearing a memory and, thus, never forgetting about it. These rings were exhibited in 2007 at in “The Objects of Longing” at the Harbourfront Centre (Toronto Canada). Another ring of my admiration is - “Floating Saucer Series Ring”, as for me it looks like 2 parts or 2 people, who has separated and now understood, that it was a mistake but they can’t correct it. And, then, suddenly, after some time - they finally together again (because of the adjustable form of the ring, it is possible to make it smaller and make both ends meet).
