Moisturizer: it is not an option, it is a must, ’cause it makes your face ready to the next step – foundation – a light layer of foundation must be applied all over the face either with a sponge or fingers. Powder – I would recommend to use a compact one, because you must feel yourself comfortable while celebration. Blush – I think, a blush with a pearl shine will be ideal, you’ll spark the night! Brows – just emphasize them with a pencil.

And now, the most thrilling part, festive looks:

1. Hot tropics 2008

   Soft and gentle gold shine, warm colours. You need to emphasize and make main accent on eyes and the rest of makeup must be simple. Cheeks and lips have natural shine. Make a thin line over your upper eye-lid with a brown pencil and then stump it with a brush. Apply bronze or beige eye-shadows all over your upper lid and inner corners of your eyes highlight with light gold eye-shadows. Lips must be almost neutral, glossy and they must shimmer.

   

2. Purple star

   In this case main accent will be made on lips. Use a lip-liner and make an accurate and distinct contour, apply lipstick and then powder your lips. With the help of eye-pencil make a thin line with a dark-blue pencil and stump it, apply eye-shadows in the same tone.

   

3. Winter cherry

   It is an ideal variant for those, desiring to emphasize all parts of a face and not to look like a “bright doll”. Use colours of the same palette. Cherry colours will be OK. As a result – nice, pretty face with natural makeup.

If you are carefully following my posts, you already know what is popular this season and about what it is better to forget, so I just decided to widen your horizon and systemize your knowledge about make up and dress-code, especially, when a new tendency has appeared and its name is Glamour Gothic. Where did it come from? It became obvious after the catwalks of the famous fashion designers, ’cause namely them dictate us what is fashionable and what is not.

Main detail of this season is eyes. Why? It sounds rather trite but they are the window to the soul. And nobody can change this situation. Glamorous gothic is a combination of gothic itself and glam-rock. I am sure, this news will shock blondes, because it is really challenging to imagine a blond woman with radically black eye-shadows. But, look at Anna Kurnikiva (a sexy Russian tennis-player) she is not afraid of this tendency and even liked it. So, after visiting and looking at the models on the most authoritative catwalks, you can perfectly see their look, a look of the London fog. Make your eyes black and grey is also possible.

Now, another part of our face that has a strong connection to eyes - lashes. This autumn and winter they must be incredibly long, full and curvy. Pay attention, upper and lower lashes can be of the same length. Thus, your eyes will be amazing and look – intriguing and languishing. The following eye-lashes are of great success this season: Double Extension, Carbon Black from L’Oreal Paris, Maxi Lash, 13 Wonder Black from Guerlain, Luxurious Mascara for a False Lash Effect from YSL etc. Also, it considered to be very trendy, to use a combination of black and white mascaras. Some stylists are even going to emphasize the play of eye-liner and eye-shadows and don’t use mascara at all. September: The colourful smoky eye

It is not a secret, that it is still warm in September. But, fortunately or unfortunately, we all have calendar and we can do nothing about it and its time to change your clothes and appearance right at this time. Smoky eyes forever! It is a motto of the September 2007! But not a usual smoky eye effect, usage of black, brown and other dark colours is forbidden, you have to apply only either natural colours or bright ones: purple, green, blue, taupe. Thus, you will look glam and caught between two seasons. A very stylish tendency. Very often such a makeup can seem too bright, especially in the contrast with autumn fading colours, in such a case, tone down your eye shadows or eye-liner with pale or beige powder.

October: Back to 1960s

Have you already got acquainted with main trends for Autumn/Winter 2007/2008? So, in case of positive answer, you have to know, that 60’s are on the top of popularity, the same with makeup. November: Matte

Matte skin, face and the whole your body. You just can’t look bright, there can’t be any additional colours on your face and forget about oily skin, it is a mauvais ton of the Autumn 2007 – just be as matte as possible! How to obtain such results? Diets, skin regime, visiting of expensive spas and saloon procedures, use toner or blotter sheets, powder eye shadow, put base base under your shadow… It doesn’t matter, just make your skin look matte. And don’t forget, no lip gloss, just a lipstick.

Unfortunately, we have to say “good-buy” to summer and say “hello” to a cold autumn, so let’s prepare to a new season. To put it in a nutshell, Autumn/Winter 2007/2008 fashion is based on the following words: shine, glamour and bold unusual colours. As to main fashion themes, they are the following: leather, dresses, coats, oversized knitwear, military fashion and , of course, black things.

There is a one new tendency in clothes fashion, earlier we got used that there are only 2 collections each two seasons and now designers are almost mad, they make various pre-collections and some heavy shoppers even managed to buy everything.

So, for those, who don’t want to stay behind, the following tips will be of great importance:

1. GLEAM and SHEEN. The whole possible variants and variations of the word SHINE! Leather, plastic, metallics… even rubber! Have you already forgotten about biker’s chic? So, it is exactly the time to remember about it. I adore this: a gentle silhouette covered with thin shining leather coat. Python, exotic animal’s leather is on the top of popularity. Mixtures of different kinds of leather and fabrics.
2. CHIC COATS. Don’t worry, there are only 2 major coats styles this autumn:
   • Military style coats;
   • Trapeze A-lines sixties styling coats;

   As for me, these coats from 60’s are so elegant and in them you will look stylish for sure. As a rule, they are either short or too short.

3. OVERSIZED SWEATERS. In them it is impossible to feel upset during cold winter days and especially nights. Various types of knits, accessories, lace, leather and you look like a small and gentle girl and each man is ready to help you. But, be careful, in order to be stylish, you need sweaters exceptionally of grey, beige and other neutral colours. Also, you will look glam, if make a belted dress out of a long sweater.
4. SECRETARY DRESS. There is a common mistake, that being a secretary means to have a low-paid job and to be an alive substitute of a coffee-machine. I don’t know, whether it is true or not, but slim secretary dresses are at the top of popularity. It is a dress just a few inches below the knee. You can wear it together with hosiery. It perfectly matches your constitution, especially when worn with a belt and ankle boots, another key fashion trend.
5. ANKLE BOOTS. And only now you understand, that you are still in love with your new white just boots? There is the only one way out – cut them! Ankle boots is a must-have thing of this autumn. Dior, Dune and other famous brands made such boots a leader of the season. Brown, red, black etc. it doesn’t matter.

   

6. GLAM GODDESS GOWN. It is a hello from 40’s, full of parties, beautiful girls and sirens with languorous black eyes, they looked posh and bold and at the same time so unsophisticated, so naive. Don’t forget to wear the appropriate accessories, gloves and you are the goddess of love and beauty… The most popular colours are gold, silver, purple.
7. ABUNDANCE Only in this collection we have got a perfect opportunity to wear the whole necklaces you have (I mean at one time) and to look very stylish. Because opulence is on the top of popularity: pailettes, heavy accessories, glimmer, shimmer, glam, sparkles, mettallics, embroidery, leather stripes etc. The choice is amazing, don’t miss!

   

8. ETHNIC MOTIVES. Of course, as a fashion girl, you will notice that this trend stands apart of the previous ones and you will be right, because it is not a dominating one, but still rather interesting and promising. You will look like a princess from the Medieval times or an experienced ethnic traveller.
9. PUFFA STYLE. Padded jackets together with the already mentioned oversized sweaters can make cold winter evenings and mornings just a former nightmare. Luxurious fabrics can also be padded and have embroidery and other accessories on them. Moreover, they are not an embodiment of a bad tone anymore, they are a necessity of urban life. Cropped, mini, tiny jackets, muffles and so on. The variety of propositions can bewilder even an experienced shopper.

   

10. PURPLE COLOUR and G. So, as we all know, each season, each collection has its favourite colour, so this autumn colour (except black, of course) is – PURPLE. Yeah, it the sexiest and the hottest colour. You can choose any tone and variation. And try to remember, that G is the letter of the season, everything must be glam and gorgeous, things must be gold, ginger, glimmering, designers must be Gucci, Galliano, Gabbana. Good luck!

Fashion is very changeable, it is even impossible to buy (unless you are a famous celebrity or a super star) the whole latest fashion things! But, you can develop your own style and never forget about a sheet anchor in the world of rapidly changing fashion! It is a black colour! Remember, popular Man in Black? They were and will be famous forever! Because of a colour of their costumes!

According to Sally Singer’s (Fashion News Director at the Vogue Magazine)words: “This season black is used in a very interesting combinations, the 1st one is: black colour against the white (for example, Dior) or mixing tones of black, white and other colours, using different fabrics.”

Moreover, you can wear something black and add a great number of accessories to it, thus, you will look glamorous. A new silhouette of the autumn-winter 2007 is a black top with white skirt and a fantastic belt, you will look more stylish than anybody else.

Then, pay attention to the fact, that black perfectly matches any other existing colour and it will look wonderful with them. As for me, I adore the combination of black and gold. It is so glam and cool. People will turn their heads and ask you, where did you get such sexy apparel? Wearing black, your wardrobe becomes easy to mix-and-match.
